Eight scientific works—comprising two oral presentations and six posters—from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) were presented at the 3rd International Conference on Microbiology and One Health (MOH-VN 2026), held from August 11–14, 2026, at ICISE, Quy Nhon.

The research studies presented by CTUMP focused on key issues in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases:
1. Application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in risk stratification and predicting severe progression in children with pneumonia and hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD).
2. Investigation of early warning signs, neurological complications, and treatment outcomes in children with severe HFMD.
3. Evaluation of the roles of lactate, procalcitonin, and clinical markers in predicting sepsis, septic shock, and severe outcomes in children.
4. Analysis of microbiological etiology, co-infection, antibiotic resistance, and factors associated with disease severity and the need for respiratory support in children with pneumonia.

A source of pride is the collaboration between lecturers and students in scientific research. Under the professional guidance of the PhD candidate, MSc, and physician... Under the guidance of faculty members such as Dr. Vo Van Thi from the Faculty of Medicine, many CTUMP students had the opportunity to participate in research and confidently present their findings in English to the international professional community. This event served not only as a platform to showcase research achievements but also as a valuable opportunity for the young generation of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) to hone their academic mindset, scientific presentation skills, and global integration capabilities.
A SPECIAL MEETING WITH AN EXPERT FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD!
During the conference, the delegation had the opportunity to meet and engage with Prof. Susanna Dunachie from the University of Oxford, an expert in the fields of infectious diseases, immunology, and vaccines. At the plenary session on August 11, 2026, Prof. Dunachie presented on the topic "Developing New Vaccines Against *Escherichia coli*," offering fresh perspectives on vaccine development amidst the growing challenges modern medicine faces regarding bacterial infections and antimicrobial resistance.

MOH-VN 2026 was not merely a venue for sharing research findings; it was also an occasion for CTUMP faculty and students to connect with domestic and international experts and scientists, exchange professional insights, expand academic networks, and lay the groundwork for future research collaborations.
Each research project, presentation, and academic interaction on international forums marks another step forward in CTUMP’s journey of global integration. From data originating in clinical practice within the Mekong Delta to research shared, critiqued, and connected within the broader scientific community, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy is becoming increasingly proactive, confident, and steadfast in its integration with the global scientific community.
