On May 13, 2026, a delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), led by Prof. Nguyen Trung Kien – Rector, along with representatives from various faculties and units of the University, visited and held discussions on cooperation at Uppsala University – one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Sweden, renowned for its top-quality training and outstanding research. Prof. Carin Andrews – Acting Director of the Center for Health and Sustainability, Department of Women's and Children's Health, Uppsala University, chaired the meeting.

On the Uppsala University side, the meeting was also attended by experts from various departments and research fields, including:

At the meeting, Prof. Carin Andrews provided an overview of Uppsala University, Department of Women's and Children’s Health, the training and research activities at the Center for Health and Sustainability. Prof. Carin Andrews and the accompanying experts also introduced the collaborative programs and research projects on public health that the Center is currently implementing in various countries and proposed several areas of cooperation in mental health, public health, child health and nutrition, nursing, and biomedical engineering, etc.

The two sides discussed and identified several potential areas of cooperation, including: research on child health and public health with a global approach; cooperation in the fields of climate change, public health, and mental health; faculty and student exchange; inviting guest lecturers and scientific presentations; and coordinating the implementation of joint research projects through the ERASMUS+ grant program.
On this occasion, the delegation was guided by Prof. Carin Andrews on a tour of the working and research facilities of the Center for Health and Sustainability, Uppsala University.
