On May 11, 2026, a delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), led by Prof. Nguyen Trung Kien – Rector, along with representatives from various faculties and units, visited and held discussions on cooperation with the Swedish Red Cross University in Stockholm, Sweden – a prestigious higher education institution in Sweden, specializing in nursing and global healthcare. Professor Dr. Susanne Georgsson – Rector, and Dr. Helene Komlos Grill, Director of Communications, presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, Prof. Susanne Georgsson – Rector, gave an overview of the history and development of the Swedish Red Cross University; regarding undergraduate and postgraduate training programs; development orientation and international cooperation activities of the University.

The two sides discussed and identified several potential cooperation directions in the fields of Nursing and Midwifery, such as faculty and student exchange, inviting guest lecturers, participating in international cooperation programs such as ERASMUS+ and bilateral funding programs between the Nordic countries and Vietnam.
On this occasion, the delegation was guided by Prof. Susanne Georgsson and Dr. Helene Komlos Grill on a tour of the University campus and simulation practice centers.

This serves as a foundation for CTUMP to collaborate with the Swedish Red Cross University on the ERASMUS+ project. Both sides committed to maintaining and developing the cooperative relationship following this visit, aiming to promptly implement specific programs and projects that will contribute to improving the quality of nursing and midwifery training at CTUMP.
