Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is one the top universities in Australia, known for their research-focused training programs. Founded in 1908 in the state of Queensland, QUT is well known as 'a university for the real world because of their close links with industry and their relevant teaching and applied research. Industry representatives and professionals contribute to their course development, adding a practical perspective to theoretical education.
The working visit aims at gaining more in-depth knowlegde of nutrition, preventing non-communicable diseases as well as building and consulting models used for recognizing and managing public health problems.
During the visit, many events were held successfully including: 01 discussion on nutrition, orienting nutrition-related researches in clinic and public, planning on building nutritional intervention model on each individual, in this discussion Prof. Danielle Gallegos and Dr. Helen Vidgen shared their precious and practical experience on nutritional researches done and being done by the Faculty of Public Health; 02 seminars with the enthusiastic discussion of 19 participants. In the second meeting, representative of staff from Can Tho Sub-department of Food Safety and Hygiene, Dr. Pham Van Chinh shared valuable information about propaganda and free screening of diabetes in Can Tho city. At the end of the second meeting, Assoc.Prof. Pham Thi Tam shared and oriented the opportunities for future cooperation between the two universities.
