
The US-CDC visited
Vietnam and worked with CTUMP.
At the
meeting, there were MD. Eric DZIUBAN, Director of the US-CDC in Vietnam; MD.
NGUYEN Kim Binh, Director of the project to provide care and treatment for HIV
patients in Vietnam; PhD. MD. BUI Thi Thu Hien, Director of the project of
medical testing. Representing the CTUMP, there were Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN
Van Lam, Vice Rector; MSc. MD. LE Minh
Huu, Director of the Faculty of Public Health; PhD. NGUYEN Tan Dat, Deputy Head
of the Faculty of Public Health; PhD. NGUYEN Thi Hai Yen, Head of the
Department of Microbiology; MSc. NGUYEN Cong Hanh, Director of the Department
of Infectology, PhD. NGUYEN Thang, Deputy Head of the Office of Science –
Technology and External Relations; and other representatives of the Faculty of
Public Health.

Representatives of the US-CDC
Following the invitation of Can Tho University of Medicine
and Pharmacy, the US-CDC made a visit to discuss content of activities within
the framework of cooperation in training, research and care for HIV/AIDS
patients, and other cooperation activies. The development history of CTUMP and
the Faculty of Public Health was introduced to the delegate of the US-CDC, and
the US-CDC was introduced to the representatives of CTUMP. Issues of directions
for cooperative projects in training, scientific research and healthcare for
HIV/AIDS patients and other fields of cooperation were discussed.

Friendly handshakes and commemoration gifts were exchanged.
The meeting ended with success, and
through discussions the delegates of CTUMP and US-CDC developed ideas and
decisions about cooperation in treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. This
serves as a stepping stone for future cooperation plans.
