From May 19th to June 4th, 2026, two students: Tang Chau Tuan Ngoc (Class 48, Dentistry) and Pham Ngoc Thinh (Class 48, General Medicine) from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) were selected to participate in the VAW Global Outreach Summer Internship Program in Panama under the VAW Global Vietnam Scholarship. This is a concrete result based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and VAW Global Health Alliances.

During the 15-day program, two students, along with students from other countries, participated in activities including cultural and medical orientation, a Spanish language class, vitals practice, a suture class, and community health check-ups (Clinic Days).

Through the program, international students learned about the healthcare system in Panama, participated in community health support activities under the guidance of professionals, and had the opportunity to interact, learn in an international environment, and experience the local culture.

The VAW Global Outreach Summer Internship Program is organized to provide opportunities for students in health science fields to access practical community healthcare in developing countries, contributing to improving professional knowledge, teamwork skills, and international integration capabilities.
