Ngày 17/11/2025, TS.BS. Trương Thành Nam, Phó Trưởng Khoa Y tế Công cộng Trường Đại học Y Dược Cần Thơ (CTUMP), đã có chuyến thăm và làm việc tại Viện Dinh dưỡng và Viện Phát triển Y tế ASEAN, Đại học Mahidol (Thái Lan), nhằm thúc đẩy các chương trình hợp tác quốc tế trong đào tạo và nghiên cứu khoa học.
Chuyến thăm diễn ra tại Đại học Mahidol, một trong những cơ sở đào tạo y khoa hàng đầu khu vực ASEAN. Mục đích chính là trao đổi kinh nghiệm và tìm kiếm các cơ hội hợp tác sâu rộng giữa Khoa Y tế Công cộng của CTUMP với các đơn vị trực thuộc Đại học Mahidol.
Buổi làm việc có sự tham dự của PGS.TS. Thunwadee Suksarol, Giám đốc Viện Phát triển Y tế ASEAN, cùng TS. Thanit Vinitchagoon, đại diện Viện Dinh dưỡng.

Phía Đại học Mahidol đã tiếp đón trọng thị và bày tỏ sự cởi mở cao đối với các triển vọng hợp tác song phương. Các bên đã tập trung thảo luận về tiềm năng hợp tác trong đào tạo, nghiên cứu khoa học, và tổ chức các hội nghị – hội thảo quốc tế trong tương lai. Đặc biệt, hai lĩnh vực cốt lõi được ưu tiên trao đổi là Y tế công cộng và Dinh dưỡng, nhằm nâng cao chất lượng nguồn nhân lực y tế cho cả hai quốc gia.
Tham quan Cơ sở Vật chất Ngành Dinh dưỡng
Trong khuôn khổ chuyến thăm, TS.BS. Trương Thành Nam đã tiến hành tham quan thực tế các cơ sở phục vụ giảng dạy tại Đại học Mahidol. Ông đã tham quan phòng thực hành Dinh dưỡng – Tiết chế, khu vực nhà bếp thực nghiệm và toàn bộ hệ thống trang thiết bị hiện đại. Mục đích là học hỏi kinh nghiệm trong việc tổ chức và vận hành các cơ sở vật chất phục vụ giảng dạy và nghiên cứu chuyên sâu dành cho sinh viên ngành Dinh dưỡng.

Những trao đổi kinh nghiệm này có giá trị lớn trong việc phát triển chương trình đào tạo và tăng cường chất lượng thực hành cho sinh viên CTUMP.

Faculty of Public Health, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy visits and works with Mahidol University: Expanding cooperation in Public Health and Nutrition
On November 17, 2025, Dr. Truong Thanh Nam, MD, PhD, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), paid a visit and held a working session with the Institute of Nutrition and the ASEAN Institute for Health Development at Mahidol University (Thailand), with the aim of promoting international cooperation in education and scientific research.
The visit took place at Mahidol University, one of the leading medical education institutions in the ASEAN region. The primary objective was to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for in-depth collaboration between the Faculty of Public Health of CTUMP and affiliated units of Mahidol University. The working session was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksarol, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, together with Dr. Thanit Vinitchagoon, representing the Institute of Nutrition.
Mahidol University warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed a high level of openness toward prospects for bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in education, scientific research, and the organization of international conferences and workshops in the future. In particular, two core priority areas—Public Health and Nutrition—were emphasized, with the shared goal of improving the quality of the health workforce in both countries.
Visit the facilities of Nutrition Institute
As part of the visit, Dr. Truong Thanh Nam conducted site visits to teaching facilities at Mahidol University. He toured the Nutrition and Dietetics practice laboratories, the experimental kitchen area, and the entire system of modern equipment. The purpose was to learn from Mahidol University’s experience in organizing and operating facilities that support teaching and advanced research for nutrition students. These exchanges of experience are of great value for the development of training programs and for enhancing the quality of practical education for CTUMP students. The visit not only strengthened the relationship between the two universities but also opened up many practical opportunities for CTUMP faculty members and students to access an international academic environment.
