From May 19th to June 4th, 2026, two students: Tang Chau Tuan Ngoc (Class 48, Dentistry) and Pham Ngoc Thinh (Class 48, General Medicine) from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) were selected to participate in the VAW Global Outreach Summer Internship Program in Panama under the VAW Global Vietnam Scholarship. This is a concrete result based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and VAW Global Health Alliances.

On May 13, 2026, a delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), led by Prof. Nguyen Trung Kien – Rector, along with representatives from various faculties and units of the University, visited and held discussions on cooperation at Uppsala University – one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Sweden, renowned for its top-quality training and outstanding research. Prof. Carin Andrews – Acting Director of the Center for Health and Sustainability, Department of Women's and Children's Health, Uppsala University, chaired the meeting.

On May 11, 2026, a delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), led by Prof. Nguyen Trung Kien – Rector, along with representatives from various faculties and units, visited and held discussions on cooperation with the Swedish Red Cross University in Stockholm, Sweden – a prestigious higher education institution in Sweden, specializing in nursing and global healthcare. Professor Dr. Susanne Georgsson – Rector, and Dr. Helene Komlos Grill, Director of Communications, presided over the meeting.

On May 11, 2026, a delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), led by Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Rector, along with representatives from various faculties and units of the University, visited and held discussions on cooperation at the Karolinska Institute (KI) in Stockholm, Sweden – one of the world's leading medical training and research institutions, and where the annual Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is awarded. Assoc. Professor Dr. Kristiina Tammimies – Senior Lecturer, KIND Research group leader, and Director of the Doctoral Education at the Department of Women's and Children's Health, Karolinska Institute, chaired the meeting.
